Reading Books

Everyone now has a reading book and reading record in their book bags. Please read with your child at home each day and leave a comment in the reading record. The stickers and teacher comments in the record will tell you what your child is working on at the moment. 

Things to practise:
- Telling a story from the pictures
- Pointing carefully to each word
- Spotting tricky words such as I or the 
- Blending the sounds to read words
- Answering questions about the book

Your child will read with an adult in school at least once a week. In between this you are welcome to change your child's book, but please stick to the same book band colour. Please have both books in your child's book bag every day as they may read on a different day each week.
